Harney Enterprises LTD. was Established in Tullamore in1984 by Tom and Renee Harney. Tom had already 20 years experience in the drinks Industry at this stage, having worked with drinks manufacturer D. E. Williams Ltd. The Company started off small but with a clear vision of the future. This Vision slowly began to take shape over the next few years through improved production techniques, new machinery and a strengthened management team. Thanks to all these factors Harney Enterprises Ltd. began to grow and take its place as one of the up and coming Squash and Cordial Manufacturers in Ireland.
In the early 1990s the company made the move to larger and more permanent residence in the Spollanstown Industrial Estate in Tullamore. With this new move, more space was available for additional production lines and storage. This meant the way was clear for larger production runs and therefore the ability to compete for larger contracts. The newer facilities included seperate areas for the different stages of production, larger office space and a self contained laboratory which allowed for testing on site and new product development in-house. Over the next few years the company maintained its excellent production track record whilst developing new contracts and a greater market share.
Most recently the plant has benefited from a Multi Million Euro Capital Investment Programme in 2004/2005. The new equipment incorporates high speed filling capabilities across a range of plastic PET Container sizes (currently 1, 1.25, 2 & 3 Litre round bottles) and the full automation of the production floor from the Depallitizer that places the empty bottles on the line, through the Filler, Capper, Labeller and Shrinkwrapper to where the finished packs are placed on pallets and wrapped ready for delivery. This investment highlights the Companies determination to continue its market expansion over the next 5 to 10 years.
Since its inception the Company has achieved a series of notable Quality Accreditations: A fully integrated HACCP Plan was introduced in 1997 and BRC at Higher Level awarded in 2003.
